Gen V Episode 4 Ending EXPLAINED- Theory Breakdown

What the heck happened at the end of Gen V Episode 4? Our theory? Vought/Godulkun are using the woods to extract specific powers from their test subjects to weaponize them, and Dr. Cardoza used a weaponized form of Rufus’ pheromone powers to knock everyone out. Sounds a little crazy, but let’s break this theory down.

At the end of episode 4 of Gen V, Marie, Andre, Cate, Jordan Li, and Emma are attempting to calm down an enraged Sam at Dr. Cardoza’s house when all of a sudden… Boom. Fade to black and we see Jordan Li and Marie waking up together in bed, obviously confused. In order for this theory to be correct, we need to be right about our theory about what is going on in the woods. We will break this down in another video/blog post, but our general theory is that Vought is trying to figure out a way to extract specific powers from their supes to create a version of Compound V that actually provides the test subject with a specific superpower instead of a random one.

From our knowledge of The Boys Universe, we know that when an infant is injected with Compound V, their superpowers could be literally anything in the world. They can end up being as strong as Homelander, or as ridiculous as Love Sausage. Vought spends billions of dollars on their supes and we are sure that they would love it if they could choose the power that they receive from the injection.

We know that “The Woods” is being used as an experimental prison/facility and that the subjects are being stuck with needles. The theory here is that they are experimenting on their prisoners and attempting to create a version of compound V that mimics the powers of the test subject. The specific powers of the test subjects’ currently in the woods aren’t important per se. Godulkin is just trying to create a “somewhat” safe way to extract the powers and these prisoners are their collateral damage. Now, what could this weaponized form of Rufus’ powers be? We think either a supe that they gave this power to that they now control, or an actual device that can release Rufus’ pheromones. It doesn’t specifically need to be Rufus that was in the woods, just someone similar to him, which we had confirmation that other psychics like him exist at God U.

If anyone would have access to this weapon, it would be Dr. Cardoza. He was scared to death by Sam, but he was literally left completely alone once the gang showed up and tried to help. It would be easy enough for him to have the weapon and use it, or even have the Supe that they control patrolling his house for protection since they knew Sam broke free of “The Woods”. If they have an overpowered Supe like Sam on the run and looking for trouble, you wouldn’t want a Supe to fight him, you’d want a Supe who could knock him out so they could take him back to “The Woods”.

Our last piece of evidence for this theory is that they showed us Rufus’ powers specifically in this episode for a reason. They showed us how Marie was outside of God U speaking with Rufus and then out of no where she wakes up in his dorm room with the time in between missing. Very, very similar to what happens to the gang at the end of the episode. The scene with Rufus was hilarious, but we think it was placed into this episode for a reason.

Why do they place them back in their dorm rooms like nothing happened? Well 3 of their top 5 are present at Cardoza’s house and our thoughts are that Godulkin would rather attempt to knock them out and place them back to their lives at God U then kill them or imprison them. If they continue to poke and pry and go after Cardoza, then their lives will probably be in danger, but for now we believe Godulkin is hoping that they give up and go back to their lives. So what do you guys think? We know that there are a few other theories involving Cate that we will definitely break down in another video, but for now this is our top theory. Let us know what you think in the comments!
